International Earth Day

10 am – noon | April 22.Huntersville Parks & Recreation will plant five trees, have a few trees to send home on a first come first serve basis and have a scavenger hunt for the children. Rosedale Nature Park 9519 Rosewood Meadow Ln, Huntersville.

Tuesday, April 23

Lecture with Frank Lord ‘89 – Contemporary Policy on Nazi-era Restitution

6 pm | April 23. Frank Lord will lecture on his work related to contemporary policy on Nazi-era restitution. Semans Lecture Hall, Belk Visual Arts Center, Davidson College.

Wednesday, April 24

Dueling Pianos

5:30-10 pm | April 24. Dine, sing along and raise a glass to raise funds for Lake Norman Humane rescue animals. $25 general admission. BoatYard, 18418 Statesville Rd., Cornelius.

Guided Margarita Picture Painting

6:30 to 8:30 pm | April 24. No experience needed, just bring your enthusiasm for a memorable evening of painting.

Thursday, April 25

Comedy Zone Presents:   Preacher Lawson, from Americas Got Talent

6 pm doors | April 25. Preacher reached the final round of AGT’s Season 12  and was a finalist in America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent Champions Tours, before going on to host America’s Got Talent Live! in Las Vegas while maintaining his popular YouTube comedy channel. Lawson stops in Cornelius for just one night only as part of his nationwide “Best Day Ever” comedy tour. $35 per ticket and includes light appetizers provided by Bouk Catering. Full bar is available for purchase. 100% of the proceeds go to benefitting Yay!DAY Foundation. Cain Center for the Arts, Cornelius.

Davidson Gallery Crawl

6-9:00 pm | April 26. The Gallery Crawl is a fantastic way to experience art all over Davidson. Artists display their work in Davidson’s establishments from Main Street over to South Main Street in downtown Davidson and at the Circles @ 30.

Indigo Girls Live

7:30 – 10 pm | April 26. The Indigo Girls, the only duo with top 40 titles on the Billboard 200 in each decade from the 1980s-2010s, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers are again on tour with the release of their latest record, Look Long, a stirring and eclectic collection of songs. Connie Company Shows: ‘Dragons Love Tacos’

See website for schedule. A boy and his dog are watching a TV show about dragons when they unexpectedly get caught up in the ‘Dos and Don’ts’ of what to serve to dragons to eat. Dragons love tacos, but if they accidentally eat spicy salsa, watch out! All ages.Tickets: $15 plus tax/fees. Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour St., Davidson.

Cornelius Fishing Derby

10 am-1 pm | April 27. In this friendly fishing competition, participants can win prizes for: longest fish; smallest fish; most fish; l first fish caught. Plus, raffle prizes and more. If you don’t have a fishing pole, Parks & Rec will have fishing poles on site that can be used that day. Robbins Park Pond, 17738 W. Catawba Ave.

Shred Event Sponsored by Susan Johnson + Associates

10 am – 1noon | April 27. This event is free. Bring your old documents, confidential files and no longer-needed important paperwork to be shred. Paper, folders, hanging folders, paperclips, elastics, staples and metal clips can all be shredded. Items such as batteries, 3-ring binders, cardboard and any other non-recyclable items are not allowed. Keller Williams Parking Area, 19721 Bethel Church Rd., Cornelius.

Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival

2-8 pm | April 27. Live bands, artists and craftsmen, food truck, kids zone and more. Oak Street Mill, Town Hall and Catawba Avenue, downtown Cornelius.

Davidson Art on the Green Festival

10 am – 5 pm | April 27. Juried art festival features booths filled with top-quality art works from artists throughout the region. The weekend includes musical performances by a variety of local talents and on-site food vendors and area restaurants.  Town Green, 119 Main St., Davidson.

Earth Day Festival 2024

10 am – 1 pm | April 27. Hands-on science, food, games, activities, music, education and more at 25 Lorimer Road adjacent to the Town Green, downtown Davidson.

 Second Annual Mooresville Day Festival

Noon – 4 pm | April 27. Main and Broad streets, downtown Mooresville.

Noon – 4 pm | April 27. Family friendly street fair. Live performances,artisanal vendors, carnival games. Downtown Mooresville.

Jazz Appreciation

6-9 pm | April 27. The second night of Jazz Appreciation features the Hopewell HS Titan Elite Jazz Ensemble (Te’Je’), 6 pm-6:50 pm, and Holly Hopkins Jazz 7:15-9pm. Free. Veterans Park at Main & Maxwell streets, 103 N. Main St., Huntersville.

The Great Westside Fish Fry

1-7 pm | April 27. Applesauce Group will host talented chefs to offer you their variations of the fish fry plate that  embodies their cultural identities. Music at St. Albans

3-4 pm | April 28. Classical guitarist Adam Kossler and cellist Ellie Wee, professors at Appalachian State University, will perform a program including the incredible Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 by Hector Villa Lobos. $20 adults; $15 senior; free for youth and students. Afternoon Arias with the Cornelius Youth Orchestras (CYO) Woodwind Ensemble

3-4pm | April 28. The Cornelius Youth Orchastra’s Woodwind Ensemble will fill the parlor of Cedar Grove with \captivating melodies. Tickets are $9 each with a suggested additional donation of $9. Cedar Grove at Hugh Torance House and Store, 8231 Gilead Rd., Huntersville.
