April 22. Justin Teague, who has worked at the Cornelius Food Lion since 2007, has earned the company’s Count on Me award. He was nominated by his manager and co-workers because not only does Justin do his part while at work, he also volunteered more than 200 hours at NC Feeds where he helped package, sort and distribute food to those in need.
Through its “Count on me” culture, Food Lion fosters a sense of belonging for all associates, promoting a diverse and inclusive environment that has supported those with different abilities as well as LGBTQ+.
Justin, who lives at the UMAR Barnabas Home next to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, was also named the Lake Norman/Statesville Regional Count on Me Winner. His parents are Tommy and Tammye Teague who have lived in Cornelius since 1980.
