April 5. The Cornelius Parks & Recreation is offering an Outdoor Cinema Series Family Campout on May 6-7.

Register in advance and bring your tent a showing of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, then stay to camp at on the baseball field at Torrence Chapel Park, 21309 Torrence Chapel Road.

Cornelius residents can register starting today for $15; others can register starting tomorrow, Thursday, April 6 for $20.

The registration fee is for a group of one to four people with additional fees for additional family members.

Each group must have an adult who is 21 years or older. Limit one tent per group.

Fees include the campout experience, movie snacks and breakfast in the morning. 

The event opens at 6:30 pm and the movie starts about 8 pm.

Anyone may attend the movie, which is free. The campout is an optional, fee-based, post-movie activity.
