May 21. A Cornelius woman who volunteered as a coach at a Mooresville school has been arrested and charged with kidnapping, sex acts and rape involving a student under the age of 15. The Cornelius Police Department, in a post directly to social media, said Ayana Chabaya Walcott, 27, was arrested May 18 at her home in Cornelius.

Cornelius Police received a report April 15 from the Mooresville Police Dept. about a possible sexual relationship between Walcott and a student that occurred in Cornelius.
