Dec. 8. Just in time for the holidays, Food Lion is offering beer and wine deliveries right to your door, thanks to a partnership with Instacart, an online shopping app. Food Lion, of course, already delivers groceries to customers at home, as do Publix and Harris Teeter. Both competitors added beer and wine deliveries in the past year.

Cornelius shoppers can use Food Lion’s website at www.foodlion.com/homedelivery or the Instacart app.

Customers ordering alcohol on Instacart are required to provide their date of birth during the online checkout process to confirm they are 21 or older. Recipients of the deliveries must be 21 or older and show proof of legal age.

Food Lion is testing the home delivery service in the Charlotte region with Instacart.
First-time customers using Instacart will receive their first home delivery for free. Customers can also link their personal MVP cards and Instacart accounts to take advantage of Food Lion’s weekly savings specials and discounts.
