Weekly calendar Oct. 21-27: Fundraiser, fun and Halloween

Wednesday, Oct. 23

Family Month activities

6-7 pm | Oct. 23. Learn from experts as they discuss important topics that impact families. There will be an adult sessuion led by Evelyn Bostany on “Couples/Marriage Therapy” and one for adolescents/young adults led by Jennifer Thomas on “Conflict Resolution.” Q&A will follow. Davidson’s new Climate Action Plan

8th Annual Boos and Brews

7:30 pm | Oct. 24-26. Davidson Community Players presents its 8th Annual 10-Minute Play Festival about all things spooky and autumnal. This year’s twist: every show will include one hidden horror movie title in the dialogue, and audience members who catch them all will be entered to win a special prize. Admission is free; reservations are still required as this event has limited seating. Recommended ages 16 and up. Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour St., Davidson.

Fall Festival

Tell Me Lies: The Fleetwood Mac Experience

Live Under The Oaks

6-8 pm | Oct. 25. Kids in America. No coolers are allowed on property. A bar will be onsite in the designated area provided by Red Rocks for beverage needs. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on. Seating space may be limited. The Plaza, Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Lake Norman’s Slightly Haunted Trail Hike

6-8 pm | Oct. 25. Get ready for Halloween at Lake Norman State Park. Come dressed up if you would like, and join us on a evening hike starting at the Boat Launch. Candy we be handed out. Hike a section of the Lake Shore Trail and learn about the spooky animals that stay up all night. Meet at the Boat Launch parking lot. Lake Norman State Park, Boat Launch Drive, Troutman.

A play: Makin’ Cake

7:30 pm | Oct. 25. Part history lesson, part social science revelation, Wisconsin Poet Laureate Dasha Kelly Hamilton delivers a multi-media stage production where baking becomes an exploration of equity, class and race in America. 43rd Annual Christmas Made in the South!

Fri. 10 am-6 pm Friday and Saturday; 11 am-5 pm Sunday. Exhibitors will be there all three days demonstrating and selling their handcrafted works. Adults $8 online ticket plus credit card processing fees; admission good for all three days with hand stamp. Children 12 and younger are free. Free parking. Saturday, Oct. 26

Halloween Treat Trail & Outdoor Movie

5:30-8 pm | Oct. 26. Trick-or-treating event for children 12 and younger. Early registration required, as spaces are limited. Local businesses hand out prepackaged candy to kids. Families can also enjoy games and activities following the trail. Bailey Road Park, 11536 Bailey Rd.

Trick or Treating at Birkdale Village

10 am – noon | Oct. 26. Come dressed in your costumes and trick or treat at Birkdale Village’s participating retailers and restaurants. Please note candy is while supplies last at all Village participating businesses. Check in at Concierge starting at 10 am to grab a map of participating restaurants and retailers. Stop by Urban Air’s tent in The Plaza for a raffle wheel with prizes and candy. Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Fall Festival

Halloween Brew-Boo Tour

Noon-6:30 pm | Oct. 26. Tour includes luxury transportation, tour escort, 5 door prizes, pizza, 12

tastings, bottled water and 2 souvenir pint glasses for every guest. $59.95 All attendees must be at Lost Worlds Brewery 19700-D One Norman Blvd., Cornelius, at noon.

Sunday, Oct. 27

Trunk or Treat
