National Night Out

5:30 – 7:30 pm | Aug. 1. The Cornelius Police Department in hosting the annual National Night Out event  to promote community safety and crime prevention. Particiants enjoy an evening filled with family fun, including children’s activities, food, entertainment and more. Smithville Park.

Wednesday, Aug. 2

Art Club: Sushi Candles

2-3 pm | Aug. 2. Explore candle-making and a little slice of Japan in this teen program for ages 12-18. Roll up some beeswax sushi in this craft session. Registration required. Cornelius Library, 21105 Catawba Ave.

North Meck Community Farmers Market

Based on the classic 1989 film, Heathers The Musical is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But misfit Veronica Sawyer rejects their evil regime for a new boyfriend, the dark and sexy stranger J.D., who plans to put the Heathers in their place – six feet under. Heathers The Musical is a hilarious, heartfelt, and homicidal new show based on the greatest teen comedy of all time. This show includes mature language and mature themes; ages 14 and older.
