May 9
6:30-7:30 pm Mondays. Drop in for this high-energy class at Bailey Road Recreation Center. $10 per class, pay at the door.
May 9, 10 and 12
Open Track Nights on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
6-8 pm. James Hoyt Wilhelm Park’s 1/4-mile walking track will be lighted on Mondays and Bailey Road Park’s regulation track will be lighted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Both open to the public.
May 10
9 am – 1 pm Tuesdays at the Novant Hospital parking lot, 10003 Gilead Road.
6:30 to 9 p.m. Adults may drop in on Tuesdays for basketball at Bailey Road Recreation Center, 11536 Bailey Road, inside Bailey Middle School. Ages 18 and older. Free.
May 12
Join the Lake Norman Bridge Center
12:30-4pm Thursdays at Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave., if you have an interest in learning the game of bridge or want to develop your playing, bidding, and defense skills. All ages and skill levels are welcome. $5 per day, pay at the door.
May 12-14
7-10. Enjoy live music at a one-of-a-kind outdoor venue. US National Whitewater Center, Charlotte. Free ($6 to park). Music Schedule:

May 14
Lake Norman Bike Expo
10 am-noon at Bailey Road Recreation Center, 11900 Bailey Road, Cornelius. The event is free but advance registration for the 10-mile Community Bike Ride(s) along greenways at 9:30 am is required. Registration for the family bike ride at 10:30 am is not required. Participants ages 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult. A bike helmet is required for all rides.
May 15
7 pm performance in the sanctuary of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Cornelius.
Concerts on the Green
6-8 pm. Blue Dogs, Americana. Concerts are free. Coolers and picnics OK. Food and beverage available for purchase. Village Green, downtown Davidson at the corner of Main Street and Concord Road, on the Davidson Public Library stage.
Race day kicks off 2 pm at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. The duck float will be around the main channel with entertainment for the entire family. Ducks splash at 3:30 pm. There is no charge to attend, however each car must pay the USNWC parking fee of $6. All adopted ducks will be assigned a number and winners will be announced after the first ducks cross the finish line. With a growing demand for KinderMourn services, the need is high; the goal is to have 35,000 adopted ducks in 2022.
