Independence Day Patriotic Stroll
5:15 pm | July 2. To walk in the stroll in Davidson, line up in front of the 251 South St. building at 5:15 pm. Police will be closing off South Street, starting at Cathey Street, between 5:10 and 5:35 pm so participants can line up in the road and on the sidewalks. Festivities will begin at 5:30 pm. All participants are encouraged to march in the parade dressed in Independence Day attire and to decorate their wagons, bicycles, tricycles, and pets in red, white, and blue. A color guard comprised of members of the police and fire departments will lead the parade up South Street onto Main Street and the town green. Downtown Davidson.

The Loch Norman Highland Games and Scottish Festival
Tickets and a new life patron program are on sale now; $30-$3,000. This is a traditional Scottish festival that takes place annually at Historic Rural Hill, Huntersville. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the event. Visitors can enjoy traditional Scottish music and dance performances, as well as athletic competitions such as caber tossing, hammer throwing, and tug-of-war.
