‘From Stage to Screen: An Orchestral Celebration of Broadway and Film Music’
7:30 pm | May 19. The Cornelius Youth Orchestras presents its 2022-2023 season finale concert, featuring performances by the Orchestra, Brass Ensemble, Prelude Strings, Junior Brass Ensemble, and the new Woodwind Ensemble. Lake Forest Church, 8519 Gilead Rd., Huntersville. Tickets are free and donations are accepted. Proceeds support the Cornelius Youth Orchestras.

Saturday, May 20
9:30 am – noon | May 20. Davidson Lands Conservancy hosts a family-focused celebration of the spring season and wonders of nature suitable for nearly all ages. Event offerings include nature crafts, live animals and conservation-themed activities spaced along the West Branch greenway. Free. Paved trail at Roosevelt Wilson Park, 420 Griffith St., Davidson, offering stroller and wheelchair accessibility. Parking is along Griffith Street or in the park’s lot.
5-9 pm | May 20. Festivities will include an evening filled with local jazz bands, food trucks, craft beer, and children’s activities.

Gardening: Vegetable Gardening
11 am – noon | May 20. Having a garden plan and knowing proper sun, soil and water requirements makes it easy to start your own vegetable garden. Even if your garden space is limited there are many types of vegetables that can be grown in containers or raised beds. Learning what can be grown, when to plant and harvest, pest management, and how to maintain a garden will make your garden experience more rewarding.
