Crowned art reception

6:30-8:30 pm | June 6. Meet Ellie Rose and Eva Crawford, the  artists from Artfields 2023 Competition behind the powerful and popular exhibit Crowned. Free reception. Cain Center for the Arts.

6:30-9 pm | June 6. The Ben Gatlin Band. Everything from 60s-70s to top 40. LangTree Lake Norman, 401 Langtree Rd., Mooresville.

Friday, June 7

Fun Fridays: Food Painting / arts & crafts

Noon – 2 pm | June 7. Free summer activities for all children of all ages. Donoghue’s Open Door located inside FeedNC,2456 Charlotte Highway, Mooresville 28117.

Rock the Park

6 pm food trucks; 6:30 pm show | June 7. Greggie & The Jets. The amphitheater has open lawn seating. Bring a chair, blanket and rock the park. Free. Liberty Park, 255 E. Iredell Ave., Downtown Mooresville.

Live Under The Oaks

6-8 pm | June 7. Ben Gatlin solo.  No coolers are allowed on property. A bar will be onsite in the designated area provided by Red Rocks for beverage needs. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on. Seating space may be limited. The Plaza, Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Saturday, June 8

Intro to Flat Water Kayaking

9:30-11 am; arrive no later than 9:15 am so that class can start on time | June 8. This class is designed for paddlers who have little to no experience kayaking on calm water. Participants will spend 20-30 minutes in the classroom with the rest of the time on the water. All sessions will be lead with experienced and qualified instructors. Must register. Cost per person: $30 for residents, $36 others. Lake Norman Community Sailing Center, 15901 NC-73, located within Blythe Landing Park, Cornelius.

On Stage Concerts: Jazz at the Cain

7 pm doors; 8 pm show | June 8. Artists Ali Silk, keyboardist; Roberto Restuccia, guitarist; Jeff Ryan, saxophone; and featuring John Dillard Band. $55-$75. Cain Center for the Arts, Cornelius.

Concerts on the Green

6-8 pm | June 8. Radio Revolver – Iconic Radio Hits. Town Green, downtown Davidson.

Lights, Camera, Birkdale

7:30 pm | June 8. “Space Jam.” Seating is first come, first serve. Attendees are encouraged to bring additional blankets & chairs. No outside food or beverage is permitted, but takeout from our onsite restaurants is encouraged. The Plaza, Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Sunday, June  9

Historic Tour of the Store

1-2:15 pm and 3-4 pm | June 2. Step back in time to 1779 and explore the Hugh Torance House and Store and grounds.  The historic Hugh Torance House and Store is the oldest-standing store in NC and one of Mecklenburg County’s few surviving 18th-century structures. The site is adjacent to Cedar Grove, the National Register brick 1831 Greek Revival home of James Torrance, son of Hugh and Isabella Torance. This is a free tour but donations are most welcome. Hugh Torance House and Store, 8231 Gilead Rd., Huntersville.
