Weekender Feb. 17-19: Music, farmers market, brew tour and more

Some tickets are still available for the Sons of Serendip performance Saturday at the Cain Center for the Arts.

Here are some highlights of the weekend scene in Lake Norman.

Friday, Feb. 17

Phil Hamrick in concert

7-9 pm | Feb. 17. Tickets $25. Phil Hamrick will play a set of  singer/songwriter songs (many which will be on his new album) take a break, and then play a set of  worship tunes. Sons of Serendip 

Doors open 6:30 pm; show 8 pm | Feb. 18. Four talented friends from graduate school found themselves together on America’s Got Talent in 2014 where they wowed audiences and judges alike. Tickets $39-$58.  Cain Center for the Arts, Catawba Avenue, Cornelius.

HEARTSongs: Horton to Hip Hop

2-5:30 pm | Feb. 18. An exploration of the verse of 19th-century enslaved poet George Moses Horton. Are there comparisons to be drawn between the work of Horton, the first published Black writer in the south, and modern forms of poetry and music? Lake Norman Brew Ha-Ha Tour

11:30 am – 6:45 pm | Feb. 18. Tour departs from Kilted Buffalo Langtree to visit four breweries. Complimentary Ghostface Pizza will be served for lunch. Tickets $59.95.
