Elizabeth Bradford: Warp Weft Water Weeds

Solstice: A Winter Circus Experience

Doors 6:30 pm, show 7:30 pm | Feb. 14. This captivating circus show unfolds the story of a character who has lost his inner light, plunging him into a wondrous and surreal world where memories come to life and the ordinary becomes ‘extra’ordinary. “Solstice” blends over 8 acrobatic acts with lighting, costumes, music, scenery and snow to create a blend of poetry and circus in a 75-minute show. Tickets start at $45. Cain Center for the Arts, Catawba Avenue.

Beaty Park: History, Hike and Work Day

10-11 am History and hike, 11 am -12:30 pm optional Work Day | Feb. 15. The hike  is good for all levels. Guides will talk about the history of the park and the way Beaty was saved from development and then lead us through the property, highlighting our native tree project, wildlife habitats, pollinator garden, native plant beds and the pond restoration that is underway. This hike is approximately 1.5 miles and on wide packed paths. Must register; space is limited. After the hike, all who are able are invited to stay for a Beaty Park work day. Koresh Dance Company

7:30 pm | Feb. 15. The Smith Artist Series is hosting the critically-acclaimed Koresh Dance Company, which will present Masquerade, and immersive performance where reality and fiction intertwine. The intra-active, contemporary, operatic dance performance set to electronic symphonic music, sung live by soprano Sage DeAgro-Ruopp.  Tickets are available online and start at $12 for local students, $19 for seniors, and $22 for general admission. Duke Family Performance Hall at Davidson College.
