The Verve Pipe
Doors 6:30 pm, show 8 pm | April 15. The band behind the hits The Freshmen, Photograph and Colorful. Still making music after twenty-nine years. Live show loving and fan friendly. $55-$75. Cain Center For The Arts.
7:30 pm | April 8. “The Sandlot.” Free. Seating is first come, first serve. Bring additional blankets and chairs; no coolers allowed.The Plaza, Birkdale Village.
4-7 pm | April 15. Over 25 local organizations will be on hand to provide interactive demonstrations on sustainability, conservation and living an eco-friendly life. Live music will be performed by Justin Mintun 4-4:50 pm and James Tucker 5-7 pm. Food and drinks for sale. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the festivities, but remember no pets, no smoking, no e-cigs or vaping, no open flames and no glass containers are allowed. Scotty Barnhart
Jazz Ensemble: Scotty Barnhart, trumpet
7:30 – 9 pm | April 15. Under the direction of Patrick Brown, the Davidson College Jazz Ensemble performs their second concert of the spring semester featuring trumpeter Scotty Barnhart. Barnhart is an internationally acclaimed jazz trumpeter, composer, arranger, educator, author, and is the director of the Count Basie Orchestra. Free and open to the public. Tickets are not required. Oyster Roast (and puppy adoption event)
1-3 pm | April 15. Fin’s is celebrating five years with an Oyster & Weenie Roast. Tickets $30. Cocktails, beer, and wine will be available for purchase at the event. Live steel drum entertainment. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will benefit North Meck Animal Rescue, which will be on-site at the event with puppies ready to go to safe, loving foster homes. Sunday, April 16
6 pm | April 16. The Lake Norman Orchestra will perform a concert in the sanctuary of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. The performance is free but donations are encouraged to help the orchestra cover costs for scholarships offered to young members to help with college tuition.
1:15 and 3 pm | Sundays. Step back in time to 1779 and explore the Hugh Torance House and Store. There is no fee, but donations are welcome. Cedar Grove and the Hugh Torance House and Store, 8231 Gilead Rd., Huntersville.
