Here’s the highlights of activities this weekend:
Oct. 28-30
Boos & Brews
8 pm. Davidson Community Players presents its fifth annual 10-Minute-Play Festival with a Halloween twist. Seven original plays all outdoors in the parking lot of the Armour Street Theatre. A selection of beer will be available for purchase at each performance. Masks required for all patrons. Oct. 29
5-9 pm. Trick-or-treating starts at 5 pm; this is free and open to the public. At 7 pm, the drive-in movie Casper the Friendly Ghost begins; $5 per car, pay on arrival. LangTree Lake Norman, 401 Langtree Rd., Mooresville.
6-8 pm. A special performance by Flashback The Party Band for the last Live Under The Oaks of the season. Come ready to party and feel free to dress up in your Halloween costume. The Grove across from Starbucks at Birkdale Village, Huntersville.
5-9 pm. Family friendly event benefitting HealthReach Community Clinic, 400 E. Statesville Ave., Mooresville.
Saturday, Oct. 30
Halloween Treat Trail
Dress your kids in their costumes and enjoy trick-or-treat for pre-packaged, nut-free candy from local businesses along the festive trail, games and activities, and a spooktacular photo area on Oct. 30 at Bailey Road Park. Two sessions are available: 5:30-6:30 p.m. or 6:30-7:30 p.m. This event is free but advance registration is required. Recommended for kids 12 and younger. Don’t forget your camera.
10 am to noon. A SPOOK-tacular Halloween celebration for the little goblins Come dressed in your costumes and trick or treat at Birkdale Village’s participating retailers and restaurants. Check in with us in the Grove starting at 10 AM to grab special goodies and a map of participating restaurants and retailers. Birkdale Village, Huntersville.
