The American Legion Post 86 Veterans Day Program will be at the Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza adjacent to Town Hall Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 11 am. The program, which includes a 21 gun salute, honors military veterans and those currently serving in the Armed Forces. American Legion Post 86 Commander Mike Puckett will lead the ceremony which is co-hosted by the Town of Cornelius. Meanwhile, the North Meck Rotary has moved its Veterans Day lunch meeting to Town Hall. The meeting will include lunch and comments from member Woody Washam, who is a member of the Cornelius Board of Commissioners. There will also be a tour of Town Hall, the Police Station and the 911 Center for members.
