Trips, yacht cruise, bike, nights on the town will be auctioned at Beach Bash April 19

THE NOPKEHEE AT PENINSULA YACHT CLUB

A drinks and appetizers cruise for eight on the luxurious “Nopkehee” yacht is one of the items that will be auctioned off at the Big Day at the Lake Beach Bash fundraiser Thursday April 19.

It will be held at the Peninsula Yacht Club, which is donating the cruise on the stately French-built cruiser. All proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas. Other auction items include a paddleboard donated by My Aloha, a bike from Cool Breeze Cyclery and “trips of a lifetime” to places like Napa Valley, New York City and The Pink Place in St. Pete Beach, Fla.

TROY AND DELLA STAFFORD DONATED UPTOWN SPORTS EXPERIENCE

The Beach Bash fundraiser starts at 6 p.m. downstairs at The Peninsula Yacht Club, 18501 Harbor Light Blvd. The cost to attend is $30 at the door.

There are plenty of exceptional items in the auction: A 50″ TV from KS Audio, Knights Baseball experience courtesy of Troy and Della Stafford; Mountain Cabin getaway, from McIntosh Law Firm; and a variety of incredible gift baskets themed around nights out in Davidson, in Birkdale and Uptown, as well as golf packages and Charlotte Knights tickets.

Big Day at the Lake puts at-risk youngsters from Big Brothers Big Sisters and their mentors—Big Sisters and Big Brothers—out on Lake Norman and Mountain Island Lake for a full day of fun each year.

This year Big Day at the Lake is Saturday July 21.

Two businesses are Presenting Sponsors this year: PayPal and Champion Tire. This year’s fund-raising goal is $100,000.

Thanks to businesses and individuals, Big Day at the Lake is responsible for raising over $1 million for Big Brothers Big Sisters since its inception in 2003. Events like Beach Bash, the Butterfly Run and Celebrity Bartending all support BBBS.
