Town Board meeting schedule for 2025

Dec. 3. The Cornelius Town Board public meeting schedule for 2025 calls for regular meetings on the first and third Monday of each month with two exceptions: January, when the meeting will be moved to Tuesday Jan. 21 due to the Martin Luther King holiday, and September, when the meeting will take place on Tuesday Sept. 2 because of Labor Day.

Details

—All meetings are at Town Hall on Catawba Avenue and open to the public.

—The meetings will begin at 6 pm, with a pre-agenda meeting held starting at either 4, 4:30 or 5:00 pm, depending upon the items to be discussed.

—All regular meetings beginning at 6 pm will be live streamed via the town website: www.cornelius.org.

—All regular town board meetings are open to the public.

—Every regular town board meeting contains a segment where members of the public can address the board on any subject of their choice. The subject does not necessarily have to be on the specific agenda for that meeting, but comments are limited to four minutes per individual.

—There are certain items for discussion which, by law, require the board to conduct a portion of the meeting in a closed session. In those instances, only the town board and required staff will be permitted to attend and participate.

—There may also be special meetings called by the board at other times, to discuss a specific subject, such as the town budget.
