Oct. 6. Unlike Huntersville and Mooresville, the Cornelius Town Board has canceled its Election Eve meeting on Nov. 1. The commissioners voted unanimously to cancel the meeting, which means one meeting in November on Monday the 15th.
“Given that most citizens are focused on the election, and there aren’t any time-sensitive agenda items that will fall on that date, the meeting has been cancelled,” said Town Manager Andrew Grant.
All five commissioners as well as Mayor Woody Washam are running for re-election in the non-partisan local elections. Washam is running unopposed but there are four challengers to five incumbent commissioners.
