Oct. 5. UPDATED 6:15 pm. By Dave Vieser. Two rezoning requests from Martin Investments of Cornelius to permit boat sales were unanimously approved at the Town Board meeting last night.
Correction: The proper name of the business is Action Water Sports.
One will permit the construction of a 10,000 square foot building for boat sales and storage on a parcel just south of Life Fellowship Church, while the other officially changes the zoning of the vacant property from Rural Preservation to Rural Preservation/Auto Sales District Overlay.
The overlay district allows boat and auto sales and storage.
The board approved the following stipulations:
—The applicant must install a 10-foot multi-use path along Chartown Drive from the northern property boundary to the southern property boundary.
—The applicant will provide a $20,000 payment in lieu to the Town of Cornelius prior to Construction Document approval for the future road connection of Chartown Drive to Lake Pines Drive.
—If the boat sales use ever ceases, the boat storage use must also cease.
—All signage for the development must be approved by Mecklenburg County
An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the name of the company as Lake Norman Powersports.
