April 12. Net migration into Charlotte has fueled population gains and supported growth in employment and commercial real estate, according to John Silvia, one of the top economists in the U.S. The Wells Fargo economist says, however, that employment growth here has moderated recently.

Before that, he was chief economist of Kemper Funds and managing director of Scudder Kemper Investments.
