Washing machines have really changed a lot from older days.

Manufacturers have illuminated the agitator and significantly reduced the amount of water being used.

To further impact true washability, liquids and pods are very concentrated with high chemicals to chemically clean your clothes.

I prefer powder over liquid and pods. Powder has better washability, is cheaper, last longer, better for environment and reduces drying time.

I like to leave lid/door open for a day.
