April 29. There’s nothing like a great neighborhood yard sale, all the better if it’s 100 miles long. The Hwy. 301 Endless Yard Sale returns June 18-19, complete with vendors in Halifax, Nash, Wilson, Johnston and Harnett counties.

Shop north to south, south to north, or start in the middle and pick a direction.

Hours of the sale vary by vendor but 7 am to 5 pm daily is typical.

A big deal

The 301 Endless Yard Sale attracts people from all over the country as well as Canada.

If the sale had happened last year this would be Year 10, said Ashby Brame, director of marketing for the Johnston County Visitors Bureau.

“Please keep your eyes on the road; if you want to look at an item or booth please park and then proceed to explore,” Brame said. Hwy. 301 is a two-lane road in most places so be careful of posted speed limits, pedestrians, and pull off the roadway to park.

Some shoppers even stay overnight.
