April 8. Cornelius Police  have arrested Austin Scott Moyer in connection with a lewd act in March on a trail near the McDowell Creek Greenway.

Police conducted an undercover operation after receiving numerous tips from the community.

Moyer was arrested and charged with one count of Indecent Exposure after being observed on a trail behind Robbins Preserve Road/Preserve Pond Road wearing a black mask, sunglasses, hat and sweatpants.

Additional charges are expected to be filed as the investigation continues.
