Dec. 1. Taylor Christian’s aerial shot of a sunset in Davidson was Visit Lake Norman’s “Capture Lake Norman” photo contest first-place winner.

The local convention and visitors bureau selected three winning photos from nearly 300 submissions that embodied the best of Lake Norman from a tourism perspective.

Second place went to Don McDaniel for his shot of Lake Norman; third place winner Jason Roberts submitted a drone shot of a sunset at Blythe Landing.

The sixth annual contest seeks to reveal what parts of Lake Norman “capture” visitors.

Along with being featured in the Official Lake Norman Visitor’s Guide and receiving a canvas print, Christian will receive a $200 VISA gift card and an LKN sweatshirt. McDaniel will receive a $100 VISA gift card and LKN shirt and Roberts will be awarded a $50 VISA gift card and LKN hat.
