Sen. Tillis presents flag in honor of veteran

Feb. 6. Sen. Thom Tillis recently presented Chris Ashworth, a Cornelius resident, with a flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of the late Vernie E. Ashworth, Chris’ father. Vernie, who passed away at the age of 93 in November. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and Korea. Chris and his wife Sally Ashworth live in the Courtyards at Jetton.
