Nov. 29. A four-decades old North Mecklenburg tradition, the holiday parade down Main Street from Davidson to Cornelius, is Saturday. There’s a 40 percent chance of rain, but temperatures will be near 60.

The parade, with nearly 200 floats, will go on rain or shine.

Santa will attend

The final float is reserved for the big man himself, Santa Claus. He’s No. 191 in the line-up.

The parade gets underway in front of Davidson College on Main Street in Davidson at 1 pm, concluding in downtown Cornelius by about 3 pm.
