WHITTINGTON

Roger Clayton Whittington, 66, of Mooresville, NC passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Carolina’s Medical Center, Charlotte, NC.  Roger was born October 22, 1949 in Charleston, WV to the late William and Frances Thaxton Whittington.

Roger was a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather.  His smile and his love for people brought joy to all lives he touched.  He was most happy surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren.  Roger was the former co-owner of Huntersville Ford and enjoyed classic cars.  He loved going to the beach, traveling, and cooking holiday dinners.  Roger attended of Grace Covenant Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving family; wife, Judith Rhodes Whittington; daughter, Monica Whittington Herr and husband Jeff of Davidson, NC; son, Jason Whittington and wife Katherine of Cowans Ford, NC; grandchildren, Jacob Ryan Herr, Zachary Davis Herr, Tyler Clayton Whittington; brother, William Whittington; sister, Palma Dailey; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday February 25, 2016 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC.  Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Interment will be held in Sissonville, WV.  Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Covenant Church 17301 Statesville Rd, Cornelius, NC 28031.
