Robert Noel Stephens of Huntersville, NC passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Robin, their two daughters: Laura and Jill, two granddaughters, beloved siblings, father, extended family and a host of friends who will cherish his memory. Rob was loved by all who knew him- a man who loved and cared for others over himself, who listened more than he spoke, and whose Christ-like example will not soon be forgotten. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend; he will be sorely missed.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Huntersville Tuesday, October 11th at 3:00 pm. Any who loved him are welcome. There will be a private burial for the family following the service. The family will then receive friends after the burial in the Discipleship Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Compassion International or First Baptist Church’s Haiti Mission Fund.

Rob was born in Schenectady, NY in 1956, was raised in PA and graduated from Moravian College where he played basketball. He accepted Christ as a teenager and based his entire life on the teachings of Jesus. Always devoted to his wife, Robin, and his family, he was active in his church as a Sunday School teacher, and his community as a basketball coach and referee. He loved bike rides, gardening, and wading in ocean tide pools with his granddaughters. He loved sunsets and milkshakes and giving out nicknames. Most of all, he loved God and he loved his family. We rejoice that he sits now at the feet of Jesus.
