Oct. 5. Catawba Riversweep, a community cleanup of the Catawba-Wateree River Basin, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 9 to noon. Volunteers and organizations from 26 counties across North and South Carolina will convene at more than 50 locations across the basin for the one-day cleanup led by the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation.
In Cornelius, the Ramsey Creek Park cleanup site is still looking for boat captains. If you’re in Denver, Beatty’s Ford Park is also in need of boat captains.
“During the last Riversweep, over 50,000 pounds of trash and recyclables were removed from our waterways by more than 1000 volunteers at cleanup sites across the basin,” said Catawba Riverkeeper Executive Director John Searby.
