May 12. The Ramsey Creek Beach will open weekends, noon to 6 pm, starting Memorial Day weekend and then add weekdays (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday noon to 6) once CMS is out for the summer.
How to get in, what to pay
There is a vehicle fee to enter the park, according to Mecklenburg County Park & Rec. Friday through Sunday and on County Observed Holidays, the parking fee is $10/vehicle for county residents and $15/vehicle for non-county residents. Monday through Thursday, the parking fee is $5/vehicle for county residents and $10/vehicle for non-county residents.
Free ways, too
It’s free to enter the park by CATS bus, on foot or via bicycle. CATS will operate shuttles to the beach from the Cornelius Park and Ride, free of charge, on Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July weekend, and Labor Day weekend.
There’s plenty to do beyond sunbathing and swimming: The 46-acre park has picnic shelters, nature trails and a fishing pier that’s ADA-compliant.
