Aug. 31. Circle K Speed Street, the Queen City’s longest-running street festival, is headed to Romare Bearden Park in October with live music. Headliners include Collective Soul, Cassadee Pope and Chris Lane, as well as 90s alt-rock favorites Tonic and Better than Ezra and Charlotte native and rising Country artist Christina Taylor.
Longstanding connection
While the festival has historically celebrated May’s Coca-Cola 600 at the speedway, the move to October allows the festival to align with the Bank of America ROVAL 400, scheduled to take place Sunday, Oct. 10.
Romare Bearden The 2021 event moves entirely from Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte to Romare Bearden Park.
Beer garden
There will be an outdoor Biergarten, presented by Gilde, Charlotte’s next big brewery, as well as food from local food trucks.
When
Oct. 7-9
COVID aware
Festival organizers say they will continue to monitor all COVID-related recommendations from healthcare officials, the city of Charlotte and the state of North Carolina.
