Nov. 4. By Dave Vieser. At Monday’s Town Board meeting, Cornelius commissioners will continue to discuss possible uses for the $9.6 million which the town expects to receive from the American Rescue Plan. However, no final decision is expected to be made.
Monday’s meeting will be another input session, according to Town Manager Andrew Grant.
Previously, the Town Board decided that it will utilize the funds to supplant public safety salaries, thus freeing up $9.6 million of general funds. On Oct. 3, Grant presented recommendations to the Town Board and Monday’s Public Input Session will focus on those recommendations.
The meeting will begin at 6 pm and will be held at Town Hall on Catawba Avenue. It may also be viewed live on the town web site www.cornelius.org. Access the “watch meetings” online link.
