July 21. UPDATE 1:45 pm. [Power was restored at 1:30 pm.] Some 872 Duke Energy customers are without power in and around The Peninsula neighborhood. Power went out along Jetton Road from West Catawba to an area past John Connor and on to Belle Isle. The traffic signals at West Catawba and Jetton were functioning at noon. Stores on the Waterbean side of Jetton were effected.

Duke did not disclose the cause of the outage.
