Dec. 31. If you’re wondering what was happening downtown on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 23, it was a brief chase called off by Cornelius Police at North Main and Griffith Dairy Way in Davidson. Police said a 2020 Dodge Ram was stopped at the intersection of Catawba Avenue and School Street when the driver took off. The pursuit was suspended but subjects were later taken into custody in an adjacent jurisdiction. Charges are pending.
