March 10. By Dave Vieser. A special joint meeting between the Cornelius Town Board and the Planning Board has been scheduled for Thursday March 18 beginning at 5 pm. at Town Hall. The meeting purpose is to coordinate a review of the towns land use plan.

Deputy Town Manager Wayne Herron announced the meeting this week.

“We think this is a great idea,” he said, “bringing together both boards to discuss what types of changes we may need as we make revisions to the current plan.”

The town’s Land Use Plan, originally adopted in 1999 and last updated in 2014, is a policy to guide growth and development of land in the towns jurisdiction.

Herron said the meeting will include updates on DOT road projects in the town so all participants are up to speed with the latest information.
