Dec. 31. Pioneer Springs Community School will hold an information session followed by a tour of the historic campus at 10 a.m. Jan. 16 at the Davis House on Bob Beatty Road in Charlotte.
The holistic, nature-based public charter school is located in the National Register’s Historic Croft District, with campus facilities dating to 1890 and the early 1900s. The historic buildings and natural site offer a unique setting, while the school’s mission of empowering children through the wonder of nature has resonated with area families seeking an educational model aligned with their values.
Now in its second year, the school serves grades K-4 and plans to add a new grade each year.
Pioneer Springs is currently holding its annual lottery enrollment period for the 2016-17 school year for grades K-5. The enrollment period will continue through Feb. 5, and the lottery for new admissions will be held Feb. 26. More information about the lottery and registration, as well as the school’s philosophy and mission, can be found at www.PioneerSprings.org.
