Feb. 6. The worship pastor at Love Lake Norman, a non-denominational church that meets Sundays at the Cain Center for the Arts, will perform his own songs at a concert Feb. 17 at the Oak St. Mill.
Singer/songwriter Philip Hamrick will play a mix of his own songs, including worship tunes, in an intimate setting.
The 42-year-old will play most of the music he intends to record and use the money from ticket sales to fund new recordings.
He is planning two projects: A singer-songwriter album and an EP of some of his worship songs.
“The cool part is that people will be able to hear the new music before I even record it,” the father of two says.

The concert, in Suite 3 at the mill—behind the Police Station and the Cain Center—costs $25 to attend.
Hamrick has worked in worship ministry for almost 15 years and has written and performed his own music for more than 20 years.
