Pandemic brings down curtain on summer theater

June 4. For the first time in its 55-year history, Davidson Community Players will not produce theater on the campus of Davidson College this summer, cancelling the June and July productions.

“Sister Act,” a musical based on the hit 1992 film of the same name, and “Present Laughter,” a comedy by Noel Coward, were slated to perform at the Duke Family Performance Hall at Davidson College.

COVID-19 is to blame.
