Feb. 3. The Cornelius Youth Orchestras unveiled its new name—the North Carolina Youth Orchestra—during a faculty recital at Davidson College Presbyterian Church on Sunday afternoon.

“This exciting new chapter reflects our growing impact and commitment to bringing high-quality music education and performance opportunities to young musicians across the state of North Carolina,” said Eric Boruff, executive director and president of the Board of Directors.

The non-profit youth music education institution for elementary to high school students offers a complete portfolio of program offerings from beginning classes to full orchestras. Enrollment has grown from a few dozen students in 2021 to more than 250 students from seven counties.

All rehearsals and classes are held at Bailey Middle School in Cornelius, North Carolina.
