Economic Outlook: Newsmakers Breakfast Q&A Jan. 23 features leading economist

Jan. 13. How will tariffs affect the economy in 2025? How will immigration policy affect North Carolina? Jackie Benson, an economist with Wells Fargo’s Corporate and Investment Bank, will address a variety of issues during a Newsmakers Breakfast Jan. 23 at The Peninsula Club.

She covers the US macroeconomy, including residential housing, commercial real estate, construction and regional economies. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, she was a senior economist at the US Senate Joint Economic Committee.

She holds an M.S. in applied economics from Johns Hopkins.

Open forum Q&A

The Newsmakers Breakfast is an open-forum Q&A with people who make the news. Anyone can ask a question.

The cost to attend is $16, which includes a full country breakfast at The Peninsula Club.

Doors open at 7:15 a.m. for networking. The buffet-style breakfast gets under way at 7:30 a.m.

The Q&A begins at 8 a.m. and concludes promptly at 9.
