Fountain Court Building One rendering by Fortune Architects

July 9. If you’re wondering what that red dirt is next to Edinburgh Drive on West Catawba, it’s a new project called Fountain Court at Edinburgh Square. The project backs up to the townhomes on Cloverstone Circle.

This was a rezoning approved back in 2009 that included three commercial retail/office buildings that will stand two stories tall. Each of the buildings is 7,742 square feet.

After 10 years, the project came to life in 2019.  The developer is Chip Hawkins, with Main Street Managers.  He will construct the northern-most building first, with plans on constructing the two southern buildings in the coming year.

The property, in two parcels, is assessed at $892,000, according to Mecklenburg County tax records.
