New officers for historic society

July 1. The Members of Olde Huntersville Historic Society have elected the following officers:

President – Jamie Wideman
Jamie and her husband Kevin have lived in Huntersville for 4 years. Jamie is a native of Kannapolis and has spent most of her life in the Lake Norman area. She is an avid reader of historical fiction and has been involved in non-profit work focused on mothers, children, and animals/wildlife for over 15 years.

Vice President – John O’Neill
John and his wife Anne Marie have lived in Huntersville for over 20 years. John has served on several town committees, is an avid reader of history, and is also a member of the Perinton Historical Society in his hometown in Upstate New York.

Treasurer – Dan Boone
Dan is one of the original founding members of Olde Huntersville Historic Society, and this will be his second tour as Treasurer. Dan previously served Huntersville as a Town Commissioner and is active in several area non-profit organizations.

Secretary – Frank Gammon
Frank and his wife Susan are 31-year residents of Huntersville. Frank is beginning his second year as a member of Olde Huntersville Historic Society. Frank recently completed his second term on the Planning Board and continues to be active in town activities and non-profit organizations.

The Olde Huntersville Historic Society is dedicated to advancing knowledge of the history of the Town of Huntersville and the neighboring communities through educational programs, events and initiatives. OHHS meets the first Wednesday of each month (excluding July) at 6:30 pm at the Huntersville Arts & Cultural Center, located at 14614 S Old Statesville Road, Huntersville.
