Feb. 4. Sylvia Spury is the new executive vice president of the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce. She will report to Bill Russell, president and CEO of the chamber. Spury, who came from the Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber, has more than 20 years of chamber of commerce experience.
She was special projects coordinator and community development manager at the Mooresville chamber for 18 years where her primary duties included coordinating events, working with volunteers, high school shadowing programs, public relations, women’s network, website/data entry, social media, improving communications and marketing.
Spury also worked for the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce in Massachusetts for five years as executive assistant to the president.
She attended the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organizational Management and Professional Development and is a graduate of the Mooresville Police Department’s Citizen’s Academy.
