New eatery coming to Shops on the Green

April 24. By Dave Vieser. It’s been almost four years since the CookHouse Restaurant on Torrence Chapel Road closed. Its replacement, Torrence and Knox, will hold a preview Saturday April 26 starting at 2 pm.

Owner Andrew Sheridan, a former New York City firefighter, said the grand opening should occur in early May.

Torrence and Knox will be open seven days a week with a large selection of beer, wine and cocktails in addition to food.

Sheridan and wife Danielle have spent considerable time and money renovating the facility, which he said was “well worn” from its days as the CookHouse.

The Huntersville resident has expanded the bar area, which will now run along the entire back wall of the restaurant. There will also be two smaller private party rooms.

The 46-year-old is taking an American Casual approach.

Quotable

“At first, we will have a bar type menu featuring popular items such as burgers and sandwiches. Later on, we will add a dinner menu, where we will focus on such popular items as steaks and home-made Italian specials,” Sheridan said.

Torrence and Knox is located at 20936 Torrence Chapel Road in the Shops on the Green shopping center.
