July 9. The first day of classes at Ambassador Christian School, Lake Norman’s newest high school, will be Aug. 21, with 9th through 11th grade students in an 80,000 square foot facility in Huntersville.

Ambassador’s founders, Melissa Gibbs and Nicole Bryan, have been laying the foundation of the school for three years. ACS has received Foundational Accreditation by the Association of Christian Schools International.

The former mega-church facility has a 2,100-seat performance hall, a maple hardwood gymnasium and classroom spaces.

Mission

Ambassador’s mission is to provide an opportunity for students to thrive in an environment where “unique giftedness is celebrated, individual strengths are developed, virtue is valued, and faith is authentically explored.”

Once fully built out the school will accommodate over 1,000 students.

Head of School Dr. Zach Gautier has recently moved his family from Colorado where he was a leader at Valor Christian High School.

Head Football Coach Jay Poag serves as the athletic director. His wife Amy Poag is director of student services.

Scott Taylor joins ACS as the dean of students and head boys’ basketball coach. In May he received the Sportsman’s Club of Charlotte’s Bob Quincy Award.
