Nell Washam Caldwell, 91 of Huntersville died September 8, 2015. She was born in Mecklenburg County on December 19, 1923 to the late Jesse and Mary Knox Washam. Nell was a Navy Veteran, serving in WWII. She worked in the catering business until her retirement.

 She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Caldwell.

 

Survivors include her sons, Wayne (Bright) of Charlotte, Tommy (Darlene) of Atlanta, Joe (Beth) of Tega Cay and David (Cyndi) of Mooresville; siblings, Nancy Gray, Martha Ann Redling and J.W. Washam and 9 grandchildren.

 

Memorials may be made to Ramah Presbyterian Church, 14401 Ramah Church Rd. Huntersville, NC 28078.

 

The service to celebrate her life will be held at 3 PM Thursday, September 10 at Ramah Presbyterian Church with Andy Wing and Alan Grey officiating. Visitation will follow in the Family Life Center. Burial will be private prior to the service at Sharon Memorial Park.
