July 21. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services Tuesday reported 871 new COVID-19 cases statewide, as well as 672 hospitalizations due to COVID, a new high for June and July of 2021.
The NCDHHS report, planned for noon each day, came out at 6 pm Tuesday. The report showed a positive test rate of 7.3 percent.
There were six new COVID-related deaths reported July 20.
On July 20 of last year, there were 1,268 new cases of the coronavirus, 1,086 people hospitalized due to COVID and eight new COVID-related deaths
Mecklenburg County
In Mecklenburg County, there were 120 new coronavirus cases between Monday’s report and Tuesday’s. There were no new COVID-related deaths.
North Mecklenburg (change from Monday to Tuesday)
Cornelius: 2 new cases, 2,945 cumulative; 26 deaths total.
Davidson: 2 new cases, 1,733 cumulative; 15 deaths total.
Huntersville: 7 new cases 6,182 cumulative; 54 deaths total.
