July 17. We get butterflies in our stomachs just thinking National Moth Week which gets under way July 18. You don’t have to be a serious moth-er to enrich your life with moth facts and trivia.
For example, moths have a great sense of smell. And did you know they outnumber butterflies roughly nine to one?

Moth Week is Coming
You can learn more about our flighty friends at the Park in the Dark, the local celebration of National Moth Week, July 24 from 8 to 10 pm at Robbins Park. The annual, family-friendly event is put on by Cornelius PARC and the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation. Bring a flashlight for the nature walk listening to all the night sounds.

Activities include a moth observation station, and it’s all free.
