June 15. Developer River Run LP proposes to develop 50.9 acres at 18500 Shearer Road  for a 90-unit residential development in Davidson.

The parcel lies in the Neighborhood Edge Planning Area, which requires a minimum of 45 percent open space on-site and a mix of single-family and attached house building types. The proposal includes a park and open spaces as well as  multi-use paths.

The public is  invited to attend a public input session 5-7 pm on Wednesday, June 22,  at Davidson Town Hall.

Two years ago, after several months since initial design efforts, the applicant re-engaged the Town of Davidson and Mecklenburg County to discuss the potential development of the parcel. There’s no timeline on when construction could begin or be complete.

The purpose of the meeting is to review the development proposal and solicit feedback. A traffic impact analysis will be discussed as well, according to the town’s website.

Overview presentations by Town of Davidson staff and the project team will be at 5:05 pm and 6:05 pm, with time allotted for questions and viewing the plans in an open house format after each event.
